Saturday Night Knitting

Hello knitter's,
On Saturday we had our first Saturday night knitting group. This is purely a social event, just bring your knitting and enjoy the company of other knitters for 2 hours. Every other Saturday, 5-7 pm. There is one catch, please bring a non-perishable food item or pet food item for the local food pantry. Resources are low at the food pantry now and we thought this was good way to help stock the food pantry. Last Saturday we collected an overflowing basket of items, I will post picutres later.

Still new at blogging- We wanted to share with you all that is happening around the store. First, Super Yarn Sunday is 2-1-2009 from 12 - 4pm. A 15 % off coupon for the month of February, markdowns starting at $2.00 per skein and a free gift with your purchase to the first 100 customers. We have extra staff working that day and if you have come to our sales previously, you know you can't beat this one.

New seminars and classes are now up on the website. Rug punching classes, a faboulsous 2 day workshop on felting with renowned instructors/designers Theresa May O Brien and Mehmet Girgic of Woodscape Artistry, finishing classes and sock classes. Just give us a call to registar for these events. Details can be found on the website.

Join us on February 8, 4-6pm and we will knit leaves for the International Fibre Collabratvie Tree Project. Go to thier website http://www.internationalfibercollaborative.com/ read about this exciting exhibit and be part of it. You may bring any scraps of yarn, be creative!

Last year we had a succesful Saturday night, charity knit-a-long and as requested by so many of you, we are starting again. Begining bring you project along with a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Needham Community council Food Pantry. Meet up with old friends and help our neighbors in these difficult times.

Lucy Neatby and Kuku Dolls

I just returned from a trip to Nova Scotia where I worked with Lucy Neatby on an instructional DVD on how to make a Kuku Doll. Lucy and her team are amazing. The DVD will be available this spring. The dolls are featured in the latest issue of Knit Simple. Will keep you posted.
